General Questions

What is MASTERPIX?

MASTERPIX prints your photos directly onto thin, durable, optically clear Corning® Gorilla® Glass using UV-cured inks so your photos remain vibrant with long-lasting color. The optical clarity of Gorilla Glass makes the image printed on the glass appear to be on the surface. MASTERPIX provides durable, aesthetically pleasing fine glass prints that are so lightweight you can easily display them in a table top stand, or hang them on the wall.

Gorilla Glass was originally introduced in 2007 to help protect consumer electronics from the scratches and bumps of everyday use and has been used in more than 4 billion devices by 40 major brands. The thin, lightweight, durable, and optically clear qualities that make Gorilla Glass so popular in consumer electronics continue to provide Corning with opportunities in adjacent markets, including interior architecture, rail, aviation and photography.

Creating the Best MasterPix

Looking for suggestions on how to optimize your photography for MASTERPIX?   Consider guidance provided by our expert renowned photographers.  Visit our Explore page to see brief tutorials on making quality MASTERPIX images.

To make the colors of your MASTERPIX print look very close to the image you see on your monitor, download a free digital version of the color calibration chart here, then purchase this inexpensive Color Calibration Test Print swatch here.  When your test print arrives in the mail, compare the physical print to the digital copy shown on your monitor, then make necessary adjustments to your monitor’s color settings.  For questions, please contact us at MASTERPIX@corning.com

Help with Uploading

For optimal results, ensure that your image is the highest resolution possible.  We recommend 300ppi (pixels per inch); for example, a 5"x7” will print best at 1500x2100 pixels. However, most modern cameras will provide images that will print just fine.  We recommend you double check that your image is in focus and is cropped how you want it before uploading!

Please note: MASTERPIX can only accept .jpg, .png, or .gif files for upload. Also, scaling up your image in the editor may cause the image to lose print quality.

About Our Products

What glass finishes are available to order?
MASTERPIX prints are available in two glass finishes: glossy or matte.  Glossy finish prints have a very shiny, reflective surface.  Colors are crisp and vibrant.  Matte finish prints have an anti-glare surface, which provides a softer, muted appearance.

What is color correction?
If you choose to have your photo color corrected, an experienced technician will view and adjust your file manually before printing for an additional cost of $2.99 per file.  This includes adjustments for lightness/darkness, color balance (red, green, blue), saturation and contrast.  Corrections will NOT be applied if not requested.

How thick is the glass?
The standard Gorilla Glass thickness used for MASTERPIX prints is 1.1 mm.

How are MASTERPIX prints different from other glass prints?
MASTERPIX prints are printed on very thin glass, enabling the true colors of your photos to shine through.  The finished glass print is also incredibly durable since MASTERPIX features Gorilla Glass. Your prints are scratch-resistant, stain-resistant, and easy to clean. Gorilla Glass is chemically strengthened to resist damage and breakage, making it some of the toughest glass on earth - and the perfect material to preserve your memories for years to come.

How should I display my MASTERPIX prints?
There are several ways you can display your MASTERPIX prints: in a stand, mounted on the wall, or in a standard picture frame.

Recommended Display Options

Below is a list of the recommended display options for each print size/orientation. If you have any additional questions, please email MASTERPIX@corning.com.

*Please note: Velcro® stickers come free with every order. Metal brackets will come attached to your print when selected as a mounting option during the upload process. When ordering as a separate item, mounting brackets will not be adhered to any ordered prints.

Are there other display products available to purchase?

Yes, we have several new display options to choose from, including bamboo stands, wooden keepsake boxes, and metal brackets.

  • Bamboo stands: available in four sizes (5”, 8”, 11”, and 16”)
  • Wooden keepsake boxes: available in small and large sizes.  The small box can hold approximately ten 5"x7” prints.  The large box can hold approximately ten prints of either 5"x7", 6"x6", or 8"x10" prints.
  • Metal brackets: Easy to use and self-adhesive, just peel and stick the bracket to the back of your MASTERPIX print, then hang on the wall using standard hardware (ie: nail, hook, or picture-hanging kit).
    • 3”x3” fits 5”x7”, 6”x6” prints
    • 5”x5” fits 8”x10”, 11”x14” prints
    • 8”x10” fits 16”x16” and 16”x24” portrait prints
    • 10”x8” fits 16”x24” landscape prints

How do I mount my MASTERPIX prints on the wall?

MASTERPIX prints are incredibly thin, lightweight, and easy to mount.  Removable wall mounting stickers are included with the purchase of larger MASTERPIX prints (11x14, 16x16, 16x24), or you can add a little depth to your wall mounted prints with our easy-to-use, self-adhesive metal brackets.  Other mounting options, such as edge grips, can be used at your sole discretion.

Can I put my MASTERPIX print in a standard picture frame?
Yes, you can! MASTERPIX prints do not require a frame - they come out of the box ready to display on a wall, desk, mantle or bookshelf. But if you choose, you can frame your MASTERPIX prints as you would a normal photograph and create whatever aesthetic look you desire.

How do I clean my MASTERPIX prints?
We recommend using an anti-static cloth, the same cloth you use to clean your television screen or computer monitor.

    Gift Cards

    What is an e-Gift Card?
MASTERPIX e-Gift Cards work just like regular gift cards; however, when you purchase an e-Gift Card, you will receive an email with a digital gift card that has a unique code. You use this code to purchase your MASTERPIX prints.

Please note: MASTERPIX e-Gift Cards can only be used to purchase MASTERPIX products and no other products offered by Corning.

How do I apply an e-Gift Card to my order?
After you have selected, perfected and added your MASTERPIX prints to your cart,  you then proceed to checkout where you can apply your unique e-Gift Card code to your order.

Can I reload my e-Gift Card once I’ve used the balance?
No, you cannot reload (add more credit) to an e-Gift Card. Once you have used the balance on the card, the e-Gift Card is no longer valid. You can always purchase another one, though!

Can an e-Gift Card be used more than once?
Yes, but only if there is a remaining balance on the card.

How do I check my e-Gift Card balance?
Your balance will be displayed in the checkout after you have entered and applied your e-Gift Card to your order. You can also check the balance by clicking on the e-Gift Card link that you received via email.

Does my e-Gift Card have an expiration date?
No, there is no expiration date for your e-Gift Card. There are also no dormancy, inactivity or service fees applied to our e-Gift Cards.

Can more than one e-Gift Card be used toward a purchase?
Yes. You can apply multiple e-Gift Card codes to your order.

Will my e-Gift Card cover shipping and taxes?
Yes, but only if the total of your order is less than the dollar amount of your e-Gift Card. The balance on your card is applied to the final order total, which includes shipping and taxes.

When redeeming my e-Gift Card can I use a discount code, too?
Yes, you can use a discount code when redeeming your e-Gift Card.

Please note: e-Gift Cards can only be purchased at face value – discount codes cannot be applied to your order when purchasing an e-Gift Card.
